These are my ideas which are always subject to change. You are free to disagree with me but I hope you’ll think about these changes because I think they would drastically improve our lives. Here is my Rx for society: Switch to the fixed calendar and metric system, and rearrange our clocks. In the fixed calendar, numerical dates would fall on the same day of the week each month and we’d have simple 28-day months that align more closely with the lunar cycle. This would be easier to use.

End welfare/child support and replace with federal child support $1300/month payments to parent(s) for each child, up to 4 children, then $200/month for each additional child. Payments stop when child reaches 18. Single low-income parents can also qualify for a $1k/mo basic income, plus right to housing. Single parents raising children would then have a minimum income of $2300/mo plus right to housing and healthcare. This would alleviate parental costs, increase birth rate, fund stay-at-home single parents, and end exploitation associated with child support system.

Basic income $1k/month for citizens earning less than $50k per year. This would not cause inflation & would alleviate poverty & crime by helping low-income people pay for basic necessities so they can be productive. People will still work because they always want more than just the basics. Anonymous life improvement stats for all recipients are public record. Simplify the federal tax rate. Earnings less than 50k/year owe 0%. Earnings above 50k/year owe 10%. Above $1M owe 15%. Above $10M owe 20%.

Establish citizen’s right to: housing, healthcare (incl. vision & dental), education, carbon-free public transport, vocational & trade school, & in-state public 4-year college. Anonymous life improvement stats – public record. Investing in people’s health and safety makes them more productive and lowers crime. Decrim sex work and non-addictive drugs like marijuana, hallucinogens (LSD, peyote, psilocybin), and ecstasy/MDMA. Criminalize operating machines like cars under the influence, just like with alcohol.

Above would increase tax revenue, protect sex workers from exploitation, decrease human trafficking & greatly mitigate overdose deaths from drugs laced with fentanyl. Also, codify federal Abortion Rights to achieve equal protection under the law for women and abide by the Constitution’s 14th Amendment equal protection clause. This would preserve body autonomy, save pregnant women’s lives, prevent state-sanctioned surveillance, and enshrine and protect women’s constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
